**Job Description: SAP FI & CO (Subject Matter Expert)**
**Educational Qualification**:master’s degree in finance, Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in information systems, or a related field.
**Roles and responsibilities**:
- You are responsible for participating in the implementation of SAP FICO modules, which involves configuring the system based on business requirements, conducting workshops, gathering user requirements, and ensuring the system is set up correctly.
- You analyse existing financial and accounting processes within the organization and identify areas for improvement. You work closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into SAP FICO solutions.
- You configure and customize SAP FICO modules to meet specific business requirements. This includes setting up general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), asset accounting, cost centre accounting, profit centre accounting, controlling and other financial modules.
- You conduct testing activities such as unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing to ensure that the SAP FICO solution works effectively. You also document the configuration, processes, and procedures for future reference.
- You provide training to end users on how to use the SAP FICO system effectively. You offer post-implementation support by addressing user issues, troubleshooting problems, and providing guidance on system usage and best practices.
- You stay updated with the latest SAP FICO functionalities, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements related to financial accounting and controlling. You proactively identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest innovative solutions to enhance the financial processes.
- You interact with various stakeholders such as business users, project managers, functional consultants, and technical teams. You collaborate with them to understand their needs, provide expert guidance, and ensure successful implementation and support of SAP FICO modules.
- Overall, as an SAP FICO SME, your responsibilities revolve around understanding business requirements, configuring the SAP FICO system, supporting end users, and continuously improving financial processes to maximize the benefits of SAP FICO for the organization.
**Required SAP Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge of SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S4 HANA
- Minimum 2 End to End implementation in SAP ECC or S4 HANA
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in SAP S4 HANA
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in the SAP FICO module, including configuration, customization, and integration with other modules. This includes proficiency in general ledger (GL), accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), asset accounting, cost center accounting, profit center accounting, financial reporting, and controlling.
- A solid understanding of financial accounting principles and practices is essential. This includes knowledge of financial statement preparation, chart of accounts design, financial closing processes, consolidation, and financial reporting standards (such as IFRS or GAAP).
- Proficiency in SAP Controlling (CO) module, which covers cost element accounting, cost center accounting, profit center accounting, internal orders, product costing, and profitability analysis. Understanding the integration between FI and CO modules is crucial.
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting business processes, such as procure-to-pay (P2P), order-to-cash (O2C), financial reporting, financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting. You should be able to map these processes to the SAP FICO module and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Ability to configure and customize SAP FICO module based on business requirements. This includes setting up organizational structures, master data, document types, posting keys, validation and substitution rules, and other relevant configuration settings.
- Understanding of data migration strategies and techniques to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to SAP FICO. Knowledge of integration points with other SAP modules like Materials Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Production Planning (PP) is also important.
- Proficiency in SAP reporting tools and techniques, such as SAP Financial Statement version (FSV), Report Painter, Report Writer, SAP Query, and SAP Business Intelligence (BI). Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse (BW) and SAP HANA would be an added advantage.
- Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements applicable to the organization's industry and geographical locations. This includes knowledge of local statutory reporting, tax regulations, and legal requirements.
