Key responsibilities may include: Fuel dispensing: Operating fuel pumps to fill customer vehicles with the correct type and amount of fuel. Customer service: Greeting customers, assisting them with fuel selection, and answering any questions they may have. Payment processing: Accurately handling cash and card transactions for fuel purchases. Maintaining cleanliness: Regularly cleaning fuel pumps, wiping down spills, and keeping the petrol station area tidy. Safety checks: Monitoring fuel levels, checking for leaks, and reporting any potential hazards. Inventory management: Stocking shelves with ancillary products like car cleaning supplies, snacks, and beverages (depending on the petrol station). Basic vehicle checks: May perform simple checks like tire pressure or fluid levels upon request. Required skills: Attention to detail: Accurately dispensing the correct amount of fuel and handling cash transactions. Basic math skills: Calculating fuel quantities and payments. Customer service skills: Friendly and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers. Physical ability: Standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying items. Safety awareness: Following safety procedures related to fuel handling and operation of pumps.
