**Description**
**Job Summary**:
- A Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating dialysis machines to provide safe and effective treatment for patients with kidney-related conditions.
- They assist in setting up equipment, monitoring patients during treatment, and maintaining the dialysis machines.
- The role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of dialysis procedures, and patient care skills.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Machine Operation & Setup**:
- Prepare and set up dialysis machines according to patient-specific prescriptions.
- Conduct safety and functionality checks on dialysis equipment before each session.
- Maintain and clean dialysis machines, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- **Patient Monitoring**:
- Monitor patients during dialysis treatment, checking for any adverse reactions or complications.
- Record vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, and weight before, during, and after dialysis.
- Report any irregularities or patient discomfort to the attending nephrologist.
**Patient Care: Maintenance & Inventory: Documentation & Compliance: Team Collaboration**:
- Assist in preparing patients for dialysis, including inserting and managing catheters or fistulas.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families about the dialysis process and kidney health.
- Perform regular maintenance on dialysis equipment to ensure efficiency and longevity.
- Manage and track the inventory of dialysis supplies, ordering additional materials as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatment, machine settings, and any incidents during dialysis.
- Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and health regulations as required by healthcare standards.
- Work closely with the nephrology team, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Communicate effectively with team members about patient progress and any concerns.
