Introduction:
Using cutting edge Data Engineering solutions and processes, design and develop ETL Components and processes that are highly efficient, resilient, conform to all Barclays quality and security standards and that can be continually refined and are underpinned by robust DevOps and Software Engineering practices and toolsets.

What will you be doing?
- Subject Matter Expert in Data engineering quality assurance activities
- Contributes towards designing a test strategy for validating AI/ML models underpinned by cutting edge data engineering and programming tech stack such as Python, R, ETL solutions such as Ab Initio, Big data technologies such as Hadoop, Snowflake and RDBMS tools such as Oracle DB, MS SQL Server
- Works closely with test lead and produces test plans, estimations and any reporting requirements
- Works closely with Tech Lead, Test Leads, Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, Designers and Business to develop and deliver most optimal solutions towards programme’s data engineering testing requirements
- Explores and pins down every single opportunity for implementing test automation across programme’s data engineering components
- Adheres to all prescribed Barclays guidelines and standards for design, coding and ensures full compliance to privacy, control and governance requirements.
- Accountable for maintaining regression packs that are fully automated
- Understands defect lifecycle concepts, test data management and various testing phases such as System Test, System Integration and End to End testing.
- Continuously strives for implementing innovative test solutions that help accelerate overall engineering activities with shift left approach
- Builds test frameworks and tests that conform to quality standards, are highly scalable and meet all the defined security and performance criterion.
- Works closely with Engineering lead to achieve engineering excellence objectives w.r.t Productivity, Quality, Right First Time and Innovation.
- Identifies, highlights and mitigates risk on an ongoing basis through defined channels and processes
- Seamlessly uses DevOps toolset to build CI/CD pipelines that are pivotal for successfully exeucting testing activities
- Proficient in data architecture, micro services, database design and data modelling techniques along with cloud solutions and related quality assurance activities
- Provide necessary, timely and accurate inputs to Tech Lead towards any reporting requirement or impact assessments
- Experiment, innovate, design Proof of Concepts to explore best suited approach and solutions pertaining to various testing requirements

What we’re looking for:

- Expert in executing Data Engineering testing activities
- Programming experience in Python, R Programming, scala or spark.
- Experience in testing AI/ML models built using Python libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, NumPy,Pandas,Scikit-learn and SciPy etc.
- Solid knowledge on SQL and RDMBS (MS SQL Server, Oracle DB)
- Experience in distributed logs and messaging platform such as Kafka and cluster computing and data processing platforms such as Spark

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Masters/Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics
- Experience in MongoDB, Redis, AppDynamics, Splunk
- Experience in ETL tools (Ab Initio)
- Hands on experience in Unix Shell Scripting
- Experience in testing big data technologies such as Hadoop, Snowflake, Teradata
