Key Responsibilities:
Perform internal and external audits of coded surgical procedures and operative reports for accuracy and compliance.

Analyze provider documentation to ensure proper code assignment based on AMA CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.

Validate code selection for inpatient and outpatient surgeries, ambulatory procedures, and hospital-based services.

Identify coding trends, discrepancies, and areas of risk for under-coding, over-coding, or noncompliance.

Prepare audit reports with findings, error rates, and corrective action recommendations.

Provide feedback and education to coders and providers on proper documentation and code selection.

Collaborate with compliance and revenue cycle teams to ensure adherence to payer-specific guidelines.

Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, CMS policies, and national coding standards.

Participate in coding quality improvement initiatives and training programs.

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times.
