Printer Repair Technician

**Job Title: Electronics Chip Level Technician / Computer Hardware Technician**

**Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Installation & Setup**:

- Install, configure, and network new printing equipment at client sites.
- Provide basic user training on printer operation and maintenance.
- **Maintenance & Repair**:

- Perform preventative maintenance on printers to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software issues with printing devices.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including printheads, rollers, fusers, circuit boards, and other parts.
- Clear paper jams, calibrate printers, and resolve print quality issues.
- **Customer Service & Support**:

- Respond promptly to service requests and client inquiries.
- Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with clients.
- Document service activities, including problems found, actions taken, and parts used.
- Provide remote support when possible to resolve minor issues.
- **Inventory & Tools**:

- Manage and maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts and tools.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.
- **Technical Knowledge & Development**:

- Stay up-to-date with the latest printer technologies, software updates, and industry best practices.
- Participate in training programs as required.
- **Safety & Compliance**:

- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree or technical certification in Electronics, IT, or a related field preferred.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of [e.g., 2-3] years of experience servicing and repairing various types of printers (inkjet, laser, MFDs, large format, etc.).
- Experience with specific printer brands (e.g., HP, Canon, Epson, Xerox, Konica Minolta, Ricoh) is a significant plus.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Strong understanding of printer hardware, software, and networking principles.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues (USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) as they relate to printer drivers and connectivity.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Knowledge of print management software is a plus.
