Your Team
Our Trade operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth execution and settlement of financial transactions through three key activities: trade matching, trade prematching, and settlements.
In trade matching, we compare trade details between our internal systems and those of counterparties to ensure all fields—such as trade date, quantity, price, and counterparty information—are accurately aligned. During prematching, we proactively identify and resolve any discrepancies before the actual settlement date, reducing the risk of trade failure.
Finally, in the settlement process, we coordinate with custodians, brokers, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate exchange of securities and cash. These activities require precision, collaboration, and a strong understanding of market practices to maintain operational efficiency and client trust.
Your Role
- Match trades between Invesco and brokers and follow up with brokers to resolve any unconfirmed or mismatched trades.
- Investigate trade discrepancies by coordinating with trading desks, custodians, and brokers to ensure timely and accurate settlement.
- Perform trade prematching and take corrective actions for trades not matched in the market to prevent settlement issues.
- Track and report failed trades, liaising with brokers and custodians, and communicate updates to relevant internal teams.
- Monitor broker performance in trade confirmation and settlement and generate analytical reports for review and improvement.
- Process manual trades in accounting systems when required, ensuring accurate booking and reconciliation.
- Maintain and regularly update documentation for global trade processing operational procedures.
- Keep broker and custodian contact sheets, including Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI), up to date for operational accuracy.
- Actively contribute ideas and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
The Experience
- Strong knowledge of global investment products including equities, fixed income, and derivatives
- 2-6 years of hands-on experience in the investment industry, focusing on trade operations and middle office functions
- Well-versed in the full trade life cycle, including trade capture, confirmation, and settlement for equity and fixed income instruments
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across teams
- Ability to make quick decisions and prioritize under pressure
- Skilled in managing time-sensitive tasks and meeting tight deadlines
- Proficient in analyzing detailed numerical data
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong team collaboration and cooperation skills
- Capable of building and maintaining internal relationships
- Effective problem-solving abilities
- Active participation in projects and initiatives
- Eagerness to learn new financial instruments and processes
- Willingness to contribute to process improvements and productivity enhancements
Academic requirements
Formal Education:
A Masters Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (or an equivalent combination of education, training, experience that would provide the knowledge, skills and ability required)
