**Vacancy: Chief Agronomist**

Agristo Masa Private Ltd, is a joint venture company between Agristo NV & The Wave Group. Agristo NV is a Belgium based potato product manufacturing company, supplying french fries and other delicious potato specialties to retail, food service and industrial customers worldwide.

The JV has been setting up an integrated potato processing complex with forward and backward connections in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. With its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, AMPL has begun producing potato flakes with a 5400 MT annual capacity through latest technology and machinery.

The next phase is to establish a French fries and a potato speciality production line.

We are now seeking a top-notch, self-motivated, detail-oriented Chief agronomist with analytical thinking, excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.

**Job Summary**:
We are looking for an Chief-agronomist with a wide international expertise in the production of processing
- and seed potatoes. The Chief-agronomist will be responsible to improve the farming results and the yield and quality of potatoes. He will collect all relevant agronomic information and transfer it in an applicable way to our agro-staff and our farmers. He will study and follow global agricultural development which can be useful for the improvement of our company results. He will examine, research, and solve problems related to crop management, output, and quality.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Developing better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield and quality, and solving problems for farmers and clients.
- Roll out, coordinate and continuously improve our seed production.
- Optimize the quality of the seed potato supply to our farmers.
- Researching and promoting agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in climate.
- Develop fertilizer and crop-care plans.
- Optimize the fertilization strategy during the growing season, to limit deficiencies and optimize yield.
- Optimize disease management by implementing Decision Support Systems (DSS).
- Develop an applicable implementation of precision farming tools.
- Develop and coordinate pre-sampling and yield forecasting.
- Develop and maintain the relation with (Global) fertilizer and crop-care companies, to optimize our farming results.
- Develop and maintain the relation with (Global) mechanisation companies, to optimize our farming technology.
- Generating reports and presenting findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
- Conducting training on products and techniques through educational presentations.

**Educational and Practical requirements**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture with a specialization in arable production or horticulture.
- Must have at least 10 years of experience in potato production.
- Further education and experience may be preferred.
- (International) expertise in growing seed potatoes.
- International expertise in growing processing potatoes
- (International) expertise in the Potato storage
- International expertise in Potato-mechanization.
- Good communication in English
- Seniority (by knowhow)
- High developed Agriculture network
- Good knowhow about potato varieties
- Good awareness of potato cost-price details
- Additional certifications may be required.
- Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
- Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office and diagnostic scientific software.
- Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong research, decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
