**General description**

Medical coding is the transformation of healthcare diagnosis, procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes. A medical coder is responsible for assigning the correct code to describe the type of service a patient received.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Accounts for coding Interventional radiology operative notes and abstracting codes including ICD 10, CPT, HCPCS, and modifier from clinical notes.
- Expertise on a wide range of surgical procedures.
- Ensure codes are accurate, active, and sequenced correctly in accordance with insurance regulations
- Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear and communicate with other clinical staff regarding documentation.
- Research for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
- Review the patient’s history for appending global modifiers.
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and keep Patients PHI intact.

**Education**

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably from life science background. Certification in Medical coding from AAPC or AHIMA. (CPC, CGSC, COC, CCS etc)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Regular / Permanent

**Salary**: ₹30,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
