**Job Summary**:
The OT Technician (Scrub Side) is responsible for preparing the operation theatre, arranging surgical instruments and supplies, assisting the surgical team during procedures by maintaining a sterile field, and ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. The technician plays a critical role in the smooth functioning of surgeries by supporting surgeons and nurses in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**:Pre-Operative Duties**:

- Prepare the OT and sterile field before surgery.
- Check and arrange surgical instruments and supplies according to the surgery schedule.
- Ensure sterilization of instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist in patient positioning and skin preparation.
- Verify surgical packs and tray setups are complete and sterile.

**Intra-Operative Duties**:

- Scrub in and assist surgeons during the procedure by passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain aseptic technique and ensure sterile field is not compromised.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon to ensure the procedure runs smoothly.
- Count instruments, sponges, and sharps before, during, and after surgery.

**Post-Operative Duties**:

- Help in the safe transfer of the patient from the OT table to recovery.
- Assist in the disposal of used materials and restocking of supplies.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and prepare them for the next procedure.
- Document surgical records and instrument usage.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Certification in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a scrub technician preferred (1-3 years).
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.

**Skills and Competencies**:

- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a high-stakes environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Team player with strong interpersonal communication.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

**Work Conditions**:

- Rotational shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Standing for long hours during surgeries.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and biohazards (PPE provided).
