- **Leadership and Administration**:

- Lead the medical college in achieving academic excellence and maintaining a high standard of medical education.
- Oversee all administrative functions, including faculty management, student affairs, and infrastructure development.
- Provide strategic direction for curriculum design, research, and academic policies.
- Ensure compliance with regulations set by the Medical Council of India (MCI), University Grants Commission (UGC), and other relevant authorities.
- **Academic Excellence**:

- Supervise and guide faculty members to ensure effective teaching and learning in all medical programs.
- Monitor the implementation of the curriculum and promote innovations in medical education.
- Oversee the development and implementation of new academic programs or specializations.
- Promote research initiatives and foster an environment conducive to academic growth.
- **Faculty Development**:

- Encourage and support faculty members in their professional development.
- Conduct faculty recruitment and manage their performance through regular assessments.
- Ensure faculty engagement in ongoing professional development programs.
- **Student Affairs**:

- Ensure high standards in student selection, evaluation, and overall academic performance.
- Provide leadership in student welfare activities, including counselling, career guidance, and extracurricular activities.
- Address student grievances and maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- **Financial and Operational Management**:

- Ensure effective management of financial resources and budget planning for academic and operational needs.
- Oversee the procurement of educational materials, infrastructure maintenance, and other essential resources.
- Develop and implement strategies for optimizing operational efficiency and reducing costs while maintaining quality.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**:

- Serve as the primary representative for the college with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, governmental agencies, alumni, and industry partners.
- Build relationships with leading hospitals, healthcare organizations, and research institutions for collaboration.
- Ensure strong ties with the community, fostering a positive image of the institution.
- **Research and Development**:

- Foster a culture of research excellence within the institution, encouraging faculty and students to engage in cutting-edge research.
- Oversee the development and execution of institutional research projects and collaborations with other universities or research centers.
- **Accreditation and Recognition**:

- Ensure the institution is fully accredited by regulatory bodies and works towards achieving higher rankings and recognitions in national and international forums.
- Actively participate in ensuring that the college adheres to the standards set by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), MCI, and other accreditation bodies.

**Qualifications**:

- **Educational Qualification**: Should Posses the recognized post graduate medical qualification and other academic qualification from a recognized institution.
- A medical degree (MBBS) with a post-graduate qualification (MD/MS) or equivalent. A Ph.D. or additional qualification in medical education management is desirable.
- **Experience**:

- Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in medical education as Professor/Associate Professor, in a medical college out of which at least 5 years should be as Professor in a department. Preference may be given to Head of the Department.
- Proven experience in managing academic and administrative functions in a medical college.
- In-depth understanding of medical education policies, curriculum design, and academic regulations in India.
- Strong network with healthcare and educational organizations.
- **Roles & Responsibilities**:

- The Dean is the overall in charge of Medical College and attached hospital.
- He is the academic, administrative head of the Institute.
- He exercises powers delegated to him as per the byelaws of the Institute.
- He may delegate any of the powers to the Medical Superintendent of the attached hospital or the Accounts officers as the case may be for smooth and harmonies functions of the Institute.
- Setting up the high standard of Professional conduct.
- Planning and administering rules and regulations to maintain efficient services as per byelaws, rules and regulations of the institute.
- Implementing recommendations and regulations that are issued from time to time by the Medical Council of India, RGUHS and other regulatory bodies.
- Interpreting rules and regulations to the subordinate teaching and non-teaching staff.
