A dietitian in a hospital has many responsibilities, including:
- Nutritional assessments: Evaluate patients' nutritional needs and health, including those with complex medical conditions
- Diet development: Create meal plans for patients based on their medical needs and preferences
- Nutrition education: Counsel patients on nutrition and healthy eating habits, and educate other healthcare professionals
- Patient care: Work with patients to help them set and achieve their health goals
- Kitchen and dining room management: Oversee the operation of kitchens and dining rooms to ensure patients and staff receive nutritious food
- Menu planning: Supervise menu planning for special functions
- Food preparation and distribution: Ensure food preparation and distribution is safe
- Patient record keeping: Maintain accurate records of assessments and interventions
- Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers
- Discharge planning: Liaise with hospital staff and external agencies to ensure patients can continue to receive dietary support after discharge
Pay: ₹12,500.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
