Clinical Psychologist

**Job Title: Psychiatrist**

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Psychiatrist is responsible for management of Athena Health programs. They are directly responsible for the supervising the Psychologist and Counsellors and assist with Interns at the Treatment Centre.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:
As well as having clinical skills as identified in the Clinical Job Description, the Psychiatrist should have the ability to:
1. Assist in the planning, implementation and monitoring of structural changes in the program.

2. Complete and update group schedules as needed and changes to intern and staff schedules.

3. Oversee patient admission into the program; liaising with Admissions team, gathering of all necessary clinical information, reviewing history on admit and arranging timely appointment dependent of patient need.

5. Print census for Treatment Team Meeting and chairs meeting when required.

6. Assist in HR procedures; select, orientate, train, motivate and discipline clinical and operation employees in procedures and policies. Reviews end of shift reports and forward to relevant people.

7. Monitors Admin staff, monitoring tasks to ensure completion and accuracy.

8. Reviews and approves payroll timesheets.

9. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements, quality assurance and safety management of the programs.

10. Assists the Operations Manager with facility operational decisions when required and resolve center procedural deficiencies..

11. Assesses productivity, operation and cost efficiencies, and economies of scale as they relate to services rendered.

12. Directs the workflow of daily clinical operations.

14. Review face to face and concurrent reviews and provide feedback. Assist with face to face and concurrent reviews if the therapist is not in the office.

15. Doc to Doc Reviews.

16. Attend for medication refills / patient complaints.

17. Follow-up with regarding any prescriptions written, lab work ordered or appointment issues with admin staff.

18. Write letters for patients if their therapist is unavailable.

19. Interact with patients to assist with crisis situations or answer programmatic/ operational questions.

20. Resolves complaints from patients and patient families/significant others and staff.

21. Makes decisions on administrative discharge of patients.

22. Responsible for compliance with state request in correcting deficiencies indicated by patient grievances.

23. Provides input on the development of action plans for resolving program deficiencies indicated by patient grievances.

24. Immediately refers issues relating to medical policy and/or procedures to the Medical Director.

25. Undertake individual and group therapy with patients and fills in for group facilitators as required.

26. Undertakes bio/psycho/social assessments, completes consent packets and behavioral contracts with patients as needed.

27. Undertake on call duty (1 week on rotation).

28. Order supplies for clinic/patients (submit PO, track credit card and submit credit card receipts).

29. Undertakes Business Development duties including giving tours, meeting with community members and possible referral sources.

30. Provides assistance to the Marketing Director in organizing monthly luncheon organization; attendance and participation in event.

31. Attends enquiries by guardians over call in case they want to talk to a Psychiatrist before admission.

32. Patients’ update calls with guardians SOS.

33. Attends calls of the staffs/ psychologists/ case workers regarding patients of the centre anytime.

34. Does virtual video rounds if required.

35. Takes detailed rounds of patients and update on treatment and design holistic psycho social approach along with the team.

36. Gets on call with the management or business team for idea sharing and execution plan.

37. Promotes the brand and be in the panel of Psychiatrist in house. Referring appropriate patients for admission.

38. Helps with contacts of qualified and professional resources from peer for hiring as and when required.

39. Performs other duties assigned.

**Skills and Competency**:
They will possess excellent managerial and leadership skills/competence which will enable them to support and motivate their teams and will have excellent communication skills, sensitivity and approachability to enable them to connect with their teams, develop and train them in order to ensure a high standard of patient care. Being able to manage under pressure and conflicting demands, they should be professional at all times in order to make decisions and manage crisis situations whilst supporting the staff and patients
