Required Warden

We are looking for a highly mature & responsible **Wardens cum Sports Teacher **who can engage students in **SPORTS ACTIVITY** & can also ensure that the following is carried out to the highest standards so that everyone within the facility is kept safe. During an emergency, a Warden must carry out the above, as well as additional duties that are vital to the safety of the college’s students and the effective management of a campus.

**Responsibilities of the Chief Warden**
- Responsible for allotment of rooms to the students.
- Engage students in sports activity.
- Responsible for maintenance of the hostels.
- Looks after the quality of food served in the hostels.
- Keeps strict discipline among students of the hostels.
- Reports to the Director in case of any indiscipline or misbehavior by the students.
- Looks into the grievances/complaints of the students if found genuine.
- Arranges for first-aid in case of any emergency and arrange for hospitalization of student/staff, if required.

**To this end, the key functions of a warden in the Office of Residence Life include but are not limited to the following**:

- Serve as administrators, supervisors and community-builders on their respective halls and floors in their buildings. The Head Wardens shall be responsible for the health, hygiene and general welfare of the students residing in the halls of residence which are specifically assigned to him/her and shall attend to all matters of health, sickness, diet, sanitation and cleanliness and shall be responsible for the students and shall ensure that the students concerned observe the rules framed for their guidance and maintenance of decorum..
- Ability to listen to and establish a rapport with students Liaison with administration and other relevant support/services departments to respond to incidents/emergencies and fulfil other responsibilities assigned such as ensuring adequate security, sanitation and other essentials for the residents. To ensure security of the students by coordinating with the security team and guards. They are expected to go beyond the call of duty and extend work hours in cases of emergency and if any need arises and be available ‘on call-duty’ whenever required, which provides emergency cover at all times. They have the authority to visit the students at any time in their rooms for their welfare and safety.
- To supervise for the smooth running of the facilities provided and to plan for up gradation and maintenance of these facilities in the halls of residence and periodically verify the furniture and fittings of the halls of residence with the assistance of the team operations and take action for their repairs/replacement.
- Ensure safe and healthy living and working environment for resident students. Each Warden will be responsible for the assigned resident students and shall promptly take appropriate action within his/her power on all cases of misbehavior, indiscipline, and sickness of the residents in his/her charge and report to Management.
- Promote a collegiate environment, good order and social harmony in the residence halls. To facilitate this regular floor meetings and town halls to be organised keeping the RAs on each floor in the loop.
- Enforce discipline and code of conduct in the residence halls as per the College’s policies and regulations.
- Participate in and facilitate team work in which reliability and ability to manage time effectively will be the key. The Chief Wardens shall be available in the hostel office every day at specified hours.
- Complete necessary administrative tasks such as report writing, surveys, filing incidents, documentation and record keeping with respect to Residence Halls. Maintaining accurate records and writing reports to help to identify trends that may require action. To lead by example. Chief warden will not violate the honour code of MPGI and will enforce and abide by college’s ethos, policies and regulations and also national, state and city laws.

**Skills sets required**:

- The role of Warden is a challenging position and requires a fine balance between enforcing discipline and supporting and bonding with students.
- Warden must be approachable and available to all students.
- He must be able to respect confidentiality. Be empathetic and patient.
- Chief Warden must be proactive and take personal responsibility, have the ability to go beyond the call of duty.
- They should be open to learning new skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Very good communication skills, with fluency in both English and Hindi.
- Good writing skills to capture data, collect feedback, design reports and conduct surveys.

**Eligibility**
- Must have prior experience of a Sports Teacher.
- Graduate with 5-7 years of experience as a Warden working in any reputed fully residential university/educational institution campus.

**Salary**: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
