Roles and Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and support in occupational health, safety and environment issues for manufacturing activities, to ensure safety of employees, environment and meet regulatory compliance across all factories.
- Degree in Engineering /Science/Environment
- Diploma/Specific qualifications in health & safety.
- Environmental Certification
- 5-8 years experience in manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of local law requirements for health and safety
- Fluency in Kannada both written /spoken is a must.

OHS related responsibilities
- Plan and implement OHS policies and programs to meet the comprehensive OHS compliance required by Govt statute and customers.
- Review existing policies and procedures and adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Educate, advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics viz process safety, machinery safety, fire safety, electrical safety, etc.
- To educate the employees on PPEs and ensure they use while working in the designated areas/on the machines
- To ensure fire extinguishers are adequately placed in all designated place and periodically refilled.
- Daily checking of Fire hydrant system to ensure it is fully functional
- Ensure emergency evacuation map is placed in all designated places, emergency lights are working & exit routes are not blocked.
- Periodical training and mock emergency evacuation drill and anlysing gap and documenting.
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
- Ensure clear reporting and consolidation of data from site activities identifying any potential developing risks and working with the local management team to develop plans to mitigate such risks.
- Actively participate in incident investigation with senior management, Regulator/Authority if required during serious incident management
- Ensure implementing that best practices of OHS

Environmental related responsibilities
- Day to day trouble shooting of STP/Waste Water Treatment Plant.
- Lionising with Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and ensure that all consents and licences are renewed in time.
- Maintaining & Providing necessary Assistance / Data for compliance with respect to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board and replying to their notices.
- Record keeping & Submission of periodical returns to Karnataka Pollution Control Board
- To interact with external agencies for all hazardous solid waste disposal & to ensure proper compliance with environmental norms
- Maintenance of day to day documentation with respect to 9001 and 14001
- Planning and indenting of all service chemicals required for Waste Water/STP
- 8.Monitoring movement of Sludge inside the factory premises in cost effective manner
- Managing Environmental audit
- Green initiative Energy & water saving, re-cycling waste, reduce use of plastic, and plantation.

**Salary**: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
