Velsera provides software and professional services for: - AI-powered multimodal data harmonization and analytics for drug discovery and development - IVD development, validation, and regulatory approval - Clinical NGS interpretation, reporting, and adoption With our headquarters in Boston, MA, we are growing and expanding our teams located in different countries **What will you do?** Technical/ Scientific - Demonstrate clear understanding of rules in KB and the rule firing logic.- Association between gene test and clinical findings - Predicates and attributes, how it impacts rule firing. - Patient management impact - Therapeutic/Prognostic/Diagnostic - Disease ontology - in disease/out of disease concept and how it impacts rule firing. - Variant classification - WashU & CAP/AMP/ASCO - Demonstrate clear understanding of respective source curation workflow for the given KB team.- Screening & curation - associate clinical/scientific evidence in a holistic manner to fulfil curation requests such as clinical inferences and write them as rules. - Existing curation strategies and clinically significant data that is curated. - Proactively seeking clarification on - content related queries with the right point of contacts and getting a good understanding before proceeding to the next step.- - for any misalignment they identify between written WI and workflow implementation before proceeding- Understanding of QA/QC process for curated content Communications - Should be able to clearly communicate strategy related queries with senior team members or within the team for discussion. - Should be able to clearly communicate any blockers/issues (content related or operational) with team members and team lead. Operational - Follow/execute daily/weekly tasks till completion based on SOP with ownership and responsibility. - Self QC of work - demonstrate a high standard with each deliverable. - Should be able to perform the curation task with average team velocity expectation and with very few major errors. - Commitment to delivery of day-to-day tasks and projects involved as per the project timelines with little supervision from senior team members or team lead. - Clear communication of daily work progress/status to the team lead - Should demonstrate clear alignment with the team’s release plan. - Demonstrate strong adherence to Velsera core values. **Requirements**: **What do you bring to the table?** - Master’s degree in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or biochemistry - Genetic and molecular understanding of human disease. - Good understanding of genomic databases and their annotations (For example: GenBank, RefSeq, dbSNP etc). - Basic understanding of cancer biology and signaling pathways. - An understanding of bioinformatics analysis to identify variants within genomic data sets is desirable. - Proficiency in communicating and understanding of genetic variant details. - An enthusiastic "can-do" mentality with leadership skills, a resolute team-worker, having good verbal and written communication skills. - Previous experience as an experimental scientist in applied science or hands-on experience in oncogenomic diagnostic laboratories is a big plus. - Experience with open-source bioinformatics tools and publicly available variant databases is a plus. - Personal initiative and ability to work effectively as part of a team. - Excellent communication skills Competencies Workmanship Independently carrying out one's work in accordance with professional standards of one's profession.
