**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Job Description & Responsibilities:
- Manage & lead all cost engineering-related tasks for the designated project scope.
- Collaborate with Strategic Buyers, Category Managers, NPI Teams, Product & Design teams to achieve cost targets and sourcing strategy goals through proactive efforts.
- Expertly analyze costs, manufacturing processes, and material/supplier differences using cost methodologies, tools, and software models.
- Analyze costs and discover potential savings for both current and new parts/products through a cost reduction investigation.
- Maintain reliable and accurate data related to raw materials, processes, machines, labour rates etc. relevant to the scope of work.
- Requires knowledge of Cost estimation software’s such as “aPriori” or Costimator.
- Analyze supplier manufacturing process, infrastructure and quotes and provide arguments with data to aid communication with suppliers and customers and achieve cost optimization.
- Participate in supplier meetings and negotiations to challenge prices and aim for cost reductions to meet target costs.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for the full scope interacting with all internal and external stakeholders as required.
- Collaborate with buyers to enhance best practices in the supplier process by drawing on past expertise.
- Work with all BU cross functional teams to achieve cost targets for NPD & existing products.
- Work with Design team for Design optimization to reduce the cost of new products.
- Internal communication and maintaining project related documentation.
- Excellent in written, verbal, presentation, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Cost analysis without prototypes. & Input for design improvements.
Minimum years of experience
16 - 18 years of relevant experience in any of this domain. (Casting -1, Forging - 1, Stampings - 1, Gears - 1, Machining & Powder metals -1
Plastics & Rubber - 1, Motors & Inverters -1, Wiring, electrical & Electronics -1)
Nature of experience
- Costing of components and assemblies in Mfg.
- Process and product mfg. knowledge in Digital Environment.
Educational Qualifications: BE / M.E. in Mechanical/Production /Electrical & Electronics Eng from reputed university.
