Introduction
The role supports the BBPLC Chief Compliance Office in ensuring that the BBPLC Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) and the BBPLC Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) is effectively discharging their duties and commitments, with an appropriate level of assurance and:

- Providing pro-active, value-added professional advice, recommendations and decisions on running of the function and acting as a trusted advisor to the CCO and their management team, supporting the function to continue building on its ongoing operation as a leading Compliance function.
- Ensuring effective processes are in place for the CCO to be aware of key Compliance, Conduct and Reputation risks and issues across the BBPLC businesses and help manage the BBPLC Compliance function in its operation.
- Helping the CCO and MLRO to manage business and regulatory engagements, the BBPLC Compliance operating model and wider Compliance strategy.
- Supporting the global alignment and consistency of strategic and operational activities, including decision making, across BBPLC Compliance, as well alignment with broader Compliance-wide initiatives.
- Supporting key strategic projects across Global Compliance

What will you be doing?
- The production of functional governance reporting materials and supporting on inputs into executive and board governance reporting.
- Supporting to prepare the CCO and MLRO for all engagements, including briefings and creating material for board, executive and regulatory audiences.
- Supporting in overseeing and managing the flow of information across BBPLC Compliance to ensure the CCO and MLRO is informed and understands the views of the BBPLC Compliance organisation.
- Working with the CCO and MLRO to manage BBPLC Compliance’s organisational design, budget and hiring.
- Supporting the CCO and MLRO in identifying and managing key priorities for the BBPLC Compliance team, driving the agenda, tracking actions and deliverables to ensure timely resolution and forward momentum.

What we’re looking for:

- Excellent writing and presentation skills, able to quickly process and synthesise complex or sensitive matters down to succinct and accurate summary/ key messages for executive management.
- A deep understanding and practical experience of Governance and Reporting, including related information flows and processes, with experience of assessing risk.
- Ability to work autonomously, to prioritise, plan and organise work efficiently and effectively to deliver promptly and reliably.
- Able to exercise independent thought, and influence and challenge Senior Stakeholders, including an ability to confront conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive and proactive manner while remaining sensitive to business needs.
- Intellectually curious and a self-starter.
- Creative mindset with a strong interest in strategic projects.
- Exceptional Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Skills that will help you in the role:

- A broad and sound knowledge of the financial industry, able to grasp new technical topics quickly.
- Considerable experience in the formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Experience of Compliance, Conduct and Reputation Risks and the related control environment.
- Track record of successful delivery of change and improvement programs.
