**Job Title**: Fitter - Valve Assembly & Maintenance

**Job Summary**:
The Fitter will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining industrial valves such as gate valves, globe valves, ball valves, and butterfly valves. The role involves interpreting technical drawings, conducting inspections, and ensuring the final product meets quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Valve Assembly & Disassembly**:

- Assemble valves as per technical drawings and work instructions.
- Disassemble and reassemble valves for repair or inspection.
- Ensure proper alignment, tolerances, and tightness in the assembly process.
- **Maintenance & Repair**:

- Perform scheduled maintenance on valves, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn-out parts.
- Diagnose valve malfunctions and carry out necessary repairs or part replacements.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak testing, and other checks to ensure valve integrity.
- **Inspection & Quality Control**:

- Inspect incoming valve parts for defects, tolerances, and proper specifications.
- Ensure that all assembled valves meet quality control standards before dispatch.
- Maintain records of inspections and repairs.
- **Technical Documentation**:

- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Maintain proper documentation of work orders, material usage, and repair activities.
- Provide input on improvements to assembly and repair processes.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow all safety guidelines and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with the engineering and quality teams to resolve any assembly or repair-related issues.
- Support the training of junior fitters or apprentices as needed.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- **Experience**: 2-3 years of experience in valve fitting, maintenance, or a related field.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Strong understanding of industrial valves and their components.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
- Experience in welding and machining is a plus.
- **Physical Ability**: Must be able to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces.
- **Attention to Detail**: Must ensure that all assemblies meet strict quality standards.
