A kitchen supervisor's responsibilities include:

- **Food safety**: Ensuring food is prepared and cooked safely by monitoring the process and following health and safety standards
- **Inventory**: Ordering and maintaining supplies and ingredients, and managing inventory rotation and storage
- **Staff management**: Supervising and coordinating kitchen staff, scheduling shifts, and training new staff
- **Food quality**: Monitoring food quality and presentation, and ensuring food meets standards
- **Kitchen cleanliness**: Enforcing sanitation and cleanliness standards, and keeping the kitchen organized and tidy
- **Menu planning**: Assisting with menu planning and development
- **Kitchen operations**: Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen
- **Customer satisfaction**: Meeting or exceeding customer satisfaction targets
- **Food cost**: Meeting or exceeding food cost targets
- **Retention**: Meeting or exceeding retention targets
- **Kitchen equipment**: Operating standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- **Line checks**: Performing daily line checks to ensure consistent tastes, temperatures, and quality
- **Inventory walk-throughs**: Performing daily walk-throughs of inventory to determine daily production
- **Opening and closing**: Performing all opening and closing kitchen supervisory tasks
