Business unit Food Systems sells systems and projects within a wide range of food industries worldwide. Procurement plays a key role in delivering competitive solutions to our customers.

About the job

As Buyer for Fabrication & Strategic Sourcing for Global requirement, you will be responsible to secure that procurement is done at a competitive level on assigned projects by driving procurement initiatives in close alignment with customer needs.

To ensure effective communication by coordinating between Project Manager, Engineering, Quality, Market Unit & Sub-vendor for timely delivery of Fabrication Equipment orders with right quality as per scope of supply.

He will also be responsible for strategic sourcing from in Indian supply chain for Global projects.

Primary tasks / Knowledge / Skills:

- Analyze spend and business requirements and identify opportunities across our industry areas together with stakeholders
- Drive strategic procurement projects from business case to implementation
- Source, select and audit new suppliers
- Drive supplier contracting and develop Alfa Laval preferred suppliers
- Knowledge of fabrication of Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Reactors, Dryers, Tanks
- Knowledge of different standards like ASME, PED CE Marking etc
- Request and negotiate quotations with focus on quality and total cost
- Report key figures and follow-up on KPI’s
- Participate in continuous development of the procurement area.

Who you are

BE ( Mechanical / Production ) with 12 to 15 years of purchasing experience in the fabrication.

To be successful in this position you must be a proactive, solution
- and result-oriented team player with strong communication skills. You work in a structured way with an eye for both details and deadlines, are analytic, enjoy processing information, and you have a strong drive to reach solutions.

Experience in purchasing of Pressure Vessels & Heat Exchangers will be an added advantage.
