- The role in a nutshell:
Key Responsibilities:
- Taking a proactive role in managing and collecting debts of company debtors
- Evaluating new credit requests and reviewing customer’s credit behaviours
- Review Setting up of terms (Existing & New Clients) and conditions of credit
- Ensuring timely collection of debts and initiate legal procedures if necessary
- Negotiating re-payment plans
- Processing and reconciliation of invoices
- Preparation of statements, client status reports and all relevant information as required
- Reviewing aged debtors, whilst posting & allocating cash and keeping an ongoing clean sales ledger.
- Conducting regular debt review meetings with key stakeholders
- Managing the customer relationships and responding to internal and external queries in a timely manner.
- Liaising with Sales Invoicing Team with query resolution & working in multiple foreign currencies.
- Produce routine reports, schedules, and summaries for management and customers as required
- Ad Hoc analysis work for the wider finance function
- Working with contract and legal teams to create new customer accounts in the finance system, as well as issue setup invoices.
- Supporting the production of the client billing process. Including monthly KPI and Adhoc figures
- Develop the credit control system in collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance and company executives
Skills Required
- Proven track record of making successful credit decisions
- Excellent customer service skills, teamwork, organization and communication skills
- Positive and a very strong, can do attitude
- Ability to pursue external and internal contacts in a professional and organized manner, along with working from their own initiative to keep aged debtors to a minimum.
- Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
- Ability to own the whole process, operating in a structured and organized way.
- Highly numerate and literate with high level of communication skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel to a high level is essential.
- Ability to work in harmony with other team members and use own initiative for broadening own expertise and experience.
- Accurate, efficient and organized with the ability to prioritize tasks as needed
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with external clients and internal colleagues
