**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Homeroom Management**:
- Provide a structured and positive environment where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to learn.
- Oversee daily routines and activities, ensuring that students' well-being and learning needs are prioritized.
- Monitor and support the social, emotional, and academic development of each student in the homeroom class.
- Foster a sense of community, inclusivity, and collaboration among students in the homeroom.
- **Curriculum Integration and Teaching**:
- Implement the IB framework and philosophy in classroom practices, promoting inquiry-based learning, critical thinking, and international-mindedness.
- Ensure that students are guided through the IB Learner Profile and the Attributes of the IB philosophy, focusing on personal growth, responsibility, and cultural awareness.
- **Academic Support and Differentiation**:
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with learning challenges and those requiring enrichment.
- Encourage students to set and achieve personal and academic goals, fostering self-management and responsibility.
- **Communication with Parents and School Staff**:
- Maintain open and regular communication with parents, providing updates on student progress, well-being, and any concerns.
- Organize and conduct parent-teacher meetings, keeping parents informed about their child’s academic development, behavior, and school life.
- Act as a liaison between the students, parents, and the school, addressing concerns, providing guidance, and offering support.
- Work closely with the IB Coordinator and other school staff to align on academic goals and student development.
- **Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)**:
- Promote positive social-emotional development, resilience, and mindfulness among students.
- Implement classroom strategies to support students' emotional well-being, conflict resolution, and effective communication.
- Lead and participate in activities aimed at fostering student leadership, community engagement, and collaborative learning.
- **Assessment and Progress Monitoring**:
- Monitor student progress through both formal and informal assessments, tracking academic and social-emotional development.
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students, helping them understand and improve their learning.
- Communicate students’ academic performance and social-emotional development to parents and guardians.
- **Professional Development**:
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in IB education, student welfare, and instructional strategies.
- Attend school meetings, collaborate with colleagues, and engage in the professional learning community to continually improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
- Support the school’s IB-related initiatives and help strengthen the school’s commitment to the IB philosophy.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Primary/Secondary Teaching, or a related field; IB certification or experience with the IB framework is strongly preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a strong background in IB education, ideally as a homeroom or classroom teacher.
- **Skills**:
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of the IB curriculum, philosophy, and learner profile.
- Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to create a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Proficiency in using digital tools and educational technology for teaching and communication.
- Ability to foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
