- Solid knowledge of electrical practices and theory.
- knowledge of RTU/PLC software and programming methods,
- Knowledge of NFPA Arc-Flash safety regulations, ladder logic and programmable logic controllers
- knowledge of calibration methods and standards, and ladder logic diagrams and schematics
- Knowledge of practices and principles of system troubleshooting, and SCADA hardware and software systems.
- Strong ability to define problems, determine facts, and draw accurate conclusions
- Sound ability to manage situations needing fairness, diplomacy, sound judgment, and firmness
- Strong ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships with employees, supervisors, suppliers, vendors, contractors, community groups, general public, and external public agencies; also knowledge of and ability to implement safe work practices.
- installing and troubleshooting electrical equipment such as lighting fixtures, transformers, circuit breakers, and power panels
- Inspecting electrical equipment for safety violations and performing maintenance tasks to ensure continued operation of equipment
- Installing electrical wiring and equipment such as switches, thermostats, fuses, and panel boards
- Writing and reviewing plans and specifications for projects involving new construction or equipment installation
- Diagnosing problems with electrical systems and equipment to identify causes of breakdowns or malfunctions
- Installing electrical equipment such as light fixtures and wiring for computers
- Testing electrical equipment for safety and performance using meters and other devices
- Repairing electrical equipment such as circuit breakers and fuses by replacing components such as wiring, insulation, and switches
- Maintaining electrical equipment such as light fixture and wiring by replacing burned out bulbs or rewiring faulty connection.
