- Strong understanding of metal types, thicknesses, and bending techniques.

Ability to use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
- **Operating the press brake**: Use a press brake to bend, punch, or cut metal into tools, equipment, and other components
- **Setting up the machine**: Prepare, set up, and adjust the press brake for each job
- **Ensuring quality**: Inspect the finished products to make sure they meet quality standards
- **Maintaining the machine**: Perform routine maintenance and check for defects
- **Keeping the area clean**: Maintain a clean and organized work area
- **Working with materials**: Measure and align materials, and ensure there are enough raw materials
- **Using tools**: Select tooling based on the material and thickness, and use precision-measuring instruments
- **Using a computer**: Use a computer numeric controlled (CNC) device to input information into the machine.
- **Working with blueprints**: Read blueprints and drawings, and adjust the machine settings based on them
- **Working with tolerances**: Work with tight tolerances to meet customer specifications
- **Monitoring supply levels**: Monitor supply levels and check the final products for defects
- **Knowledge of bending drawing**:Each bend line will have an associated bend angle. The drawing will specify whether the bend is positive (upward) or negative (downward), as well as the degree of the bend (e.g., 90°, 45°)
