**Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - Cardiology Job DescriptionJob Summary**:
The **Certified Professional Coder (CPC) - Cardiology** is responsible for accurately coding cardiology procedures, diagnoses, and services to ensure compliance with coding regulations and reimbursement policies. This role requires expertise in **CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding**, with a strong understanding of cardiology-specific procedures, including electrophysiology, catheterizations, echocardiograms, and interventional cardiology.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Review and analyze medical records to assign appropriate **CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS** codes for cardiology services.
- Ensure compliance with **CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines** to prevent claim denials and audits.
- Work closely with **cardiologists, billing teams, and administrative staff** to clarify documentation and optimize reimbursement.
- Conduct coding audits and provide **feedback to physicians** on documentation improvement.
- Stay updated on changes in **cardiology coding regulations** and payer policies.
- Assist with resolving **coding-related denials and appeals** to maximize revenue cycle efficiency.
- Maintain patient **confidentiality and HIPAA compliance** in all coding activities.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- **CPC certification (AAPC) required**; additional specialty certification (e.g., **CCC - Certified Cardiology Coder**) preferred.
- Minimum **2-3 years of cardiology coding experience** in a hospital or physician practice.
- Proficiency in **cardiology terminology, procedures, and coding guidelines**.
- Experience with **EHR and coding software** (e.g., Epic, Cerner, 3M, EncoderPro).
- Strong knowledge of **Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies**.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.
