Key Responsibilities:

- **Image Acquisition**:

- Operate X-ray equipment to produce radiographic images of the body as requested by physicians.
- Position patients correctly and adjust equipment settings to obtain optimal images.
- Ensure images are of high quality and meet diagnostic requirements.
- **Patient Care**:

- Greet patients and explain X-ray procedures in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring they are comfortable and properly positioned.
- Address patient concerns and answer questions to alleviate anxiety.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Adhere to all radiation safety protocols to minimize exposure to patients, staff, and self.
- Use lead aprons, shields, and other protective devices as required.
- Follow established protocols and regulatory guidelines for radiologic practices.
- **Equipment Maintenance**:

- Perform routine checks and maintenance on X-ray equipment to ensure proper functionality.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the supervisor promptly.
- Ensure imaging areas and equipment are clean and sanitized.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Maintain accurate records of all imaging procedures performed.
- Ensure correct labeling and documentation of X-ray images.
- Assist in scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic images.
- Assist in the training and mentoring of new staff or students as required.
- Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education sessions.

Qualifications:

- **Education and Certification**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- State licensure (if required by state law).
- **Experience**:

- Previous experience as an X-Ray Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital setting is advantageous.
- **Skills**:

- Proficient in operating X-ray equipment and producing diagnostic images.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- **Physical Requirements**:

- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Manual dexterity and coordination.
- Ability to lift and position patients as needed.
- Ability to handle and operate radiologic equipment.

Work Environment:

- This position is primarily based in a hospital, clinic, or imaging center.
- The role may require flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
