**Job Summary**:
A Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of equipment, machinery, and facilities within an organization. This role involves performing routine inspections, conducting repairs, and implementing preventative maintenance measures to minimize downtime and ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Equipment Maintenance**:

- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly.

**2. Preventative Maintenance**:

- Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules for equipment and facilities.
- Lubricate, clean, and replace parts as necessary to prevent wear and tear.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

**3. Facility Management**:

- Monitor building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security systems.
- Repair and maintain the building's infrastructure, including plumbing and electrical systems.
- Address safety concerns and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

**4. Emergency Repairs**:

- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, such as leaks, power outages, or equipment failures.
- Quickly assess and resolve urgent issues to minimize disruptions.

**5. Documentation and Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Generate reports on equipment and facility performance.
- Communicate maintenance needs to supervisors and managers.

**6. Equipment Upgrades and Modifications**:

- Participate in equipment upgrades, modifications, or installations as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors on projects requiring technical expertise.

**7. Safety and Compliance**:

- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.
- Stay current with industry regulations and best practices related to maintenance.

**8. Training and Development**:

- Stay informed about new technologies and techniques in maintenance.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff when necessary.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in maintenance is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a related role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to safety.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of building automation systems.
- Understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability practices.
