**Position Summary**:
The Commis I II roles are responsible for preparing and cooking food in their respective cuisines (Indian, Chinese, Tandoor Continental) while maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. The position supports the senior chefs in the kitchen and ensures smooth operations during service.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- ** Food Preparation and Cooking**:
- Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes according to standard recipes and instructions.
- Focus on assigned sections of the kitchen: Indian, Chinese, Tandoor Continental.
- Prepare mise en place (ingredients, sauces, etc.) for daily operations.
- ** Kitchen Operations**:
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation at all times.
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP guidelines).
- Ensure timely and efficient service during operations.
- Assist with stock control, inventory, and daily food requisitions.
- ** Team Support**:
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to support kitchen operations.
- Follow instructions and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
- ** Consistency Quality**:
- Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet company standards.
- Manage portion control to avoid wastage.
- ** Learning Development**:
- Continuously learn new cooking techniques and recipes to enhance skills.
- Adapt to the kitchen’s requirements and assist in other sections when needed.
**Qualifications**:
**Qualifications Skills Required**:
- ** Education**:
Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent.
- ** Experience**:
- ** Commis I**: Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in Indian, Chinese, Tandoor Continental cuisine.
- ** Commis II**: Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in Indian, Chinese, Tandoor Continental cuisine.
- ** Technical Skills**:
- Proficiency in preparing dishes specific to Indian, Chinese, Tandoor Continental cuisines.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, including grilling, sautéing, and frying.
- Understanding of dietary restrictions and food allergies.
- ** Soft Skills**:
- Teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a passion for food.
**Work Conditions**:
