Roles and responsibilities of a cashier are as follows:

- **Transaction Processing**: Accurately handle cash, credit, and debit transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) system.
- **Order Taking**: Take customer orders and ensure they are entered correctly into the system.
- **Change and Receipts**: Provide customers with change and receipts, ensuring accuracy.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor stock levels and inform management of low inventory or supply needs.
- **Sales Reporting**: Keep track of daily sales and assist in preparing sales reports.
- **Cleanliness and Organization**: Maintain a tidy and organized checkout area.
- **Customer Engagement**: Build rapport with customers, encourage repeat business, and promote sales or promotions.
- **Problem Resolution**: Handle customer complaints or issues efficiently and escalate when necessary.
- **Compliance**: Follow company policies and legal regulations, including age verification when selling restricted items.
- **End-of-Day Procedures**: Assist with closing tasks, including cash counting and ensuring the cash drawer balances.
