**Description**:
**About the role**:
The Market Research Principal is responsible for leading end-to-end primary research to inform Gartner insights. This includes designing quantitative/qualitative research, multi-source data aggregation and analysis, visualizing results, and ensuring appropriate interpretation and data usage across Gartner’s research organization.
**What you will do**:
- End-to-end research and survey design based on well-developed objectives, hypotheses, and usage intentions that address clients’ mission critical priorities.
- Sampling and methodological expertise to ensure research scope is feasible and within budget.
- Work with Data Collection and Data Management partners to monitor fieldwork and ensure quality outcomes.
- Tell the data story through expert analysis, interpretation, multi-source data aggregation, and impactful visuals that convey key takeaways and represent Gartner’s brand.
- Collaborate with globally distributed terrain experts to design, analyze and identify key findings for written research, client engagements and event presentations.
- Support written research attributed to study findings through additional data exploration and interpretation discussions.
- Safeguard Gartner’s content by reviewing data use for quality, accuracy, and correct interpretation.
- Actively promote opportunities to leverage results and increase the return on research investment.
- Contribute to Primary Research team evolution and strategy through self-development and collaboration with peers.
- Data Collection PMs, Data Managers, Quant Analytics & Data Science associates, Secondary Research associates
- Gartner Analysts and Key Initiative Leaders
- Other operations functions such as Editorial, Creative, and Research Content Strategies
**What you will need**:
- 5-7 years of experience in executing end-to-end primary research projects (business and/or consumer); preferably in a market research agency, or business strategy consultancy.
- IT literate and interest in IT content knowledge.
- Experienced in designing and analyzing quantitative survey data.
- Experience with advanced analytical techniques (regression, clustering, factor analysis etc).
- Current on primary research trends and innovations
- Microsoft Office Suite - advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- R/ RStudio, Python, SPSS
- Data exploration/visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Decipher is an advantage
