**The Team**:
Upstream Solutions from S&P Global Commodity Insights comprise some of the most extensive and complete information, analytics, insight, and advisory services in the world. We deliver oil and gas databases and software, energy transition insight, energy supply and demand forecasts, and comprehensive data on transactions at the global and regional market levels. S&P Global Upstream Solutions Fields and E&P data is reliant on the role of the Geological Researcher for the provision of detailed geological information and insight. The researcher will collaborate with the wider team within Upstream Solutions to help provide industry leading content and upstream intelligence, enabling the client to make critical investment decisions. The role is focused on petroleum fields in the Indian sub-continent region.
**Responsibilities and Impact**:
Research and source information on oil and gas fields in the region including reservoir characteristics, production and reserves,
Stay updated with the latest developments on upstream and energy transition perspectives, actively participate in team meetings, share knowledge and insights, and contribute to internal knowledge databases.
Initiate and run data projects to improve quality and completeness on fields, prospects and reservoirs,
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish and maintain relationships, ensuring effective communication and coordination for collaborative research projects.
Collect, analyze, and interpret data from various sources to generate insights and develop reports, presentations, publications and social media content.

**Basic Required Qualifications**:
Strong industry or academic geoscience background or experience, with excellent knowledge of the upstream oil and gas sector, oil & gas fields and reservoir s
A bachelor or master’s degree (or higher) in a geoscience discipline
Strong critical thinking, research, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and time management skills
**Additional Preferred Qualifications**:
Experience or interest in AI Large Language Models
Experience with GIS tools such as ESRI ArcMap and geological interpretation software such as Kingdom and Petrel is beneficial,
Experience with large datasets, data management systems and data analysis software (Excel, PowerBI, Access etc.).
