About the role:
Your task as Data Architect for Commercial and Customer domain is to lead data architecture & modelling on domain level globally, co-drive with business data (content) owners, functional stakeholders and other data experts that increases the Bekaert's success by defining, building and deploying digital solutions in Operations. The spectrum of your task’s ranges from innovative product solutions to optimising the efficiency of existing products. You will collaborate with product teams under Commercial and Customer to strengthen the impact of, and provides recommendations on, business information and (master) data. You will work in close co-operation with teams from other IT and Digital, Operations Excellence, Commercial Excellence and various Business Units across multiple regions.

Your Impact as Data Architect - Commercial & Customer:
As a Data Architect for Commercial and Customer domain (oversees data architecture, modelling, quality and governance, etc.), you represent business information and data by integrating strategic vision and roadmap for Commercial and Customer, you will assure and drive in the process domain of Commercial and Customer:

- Influence information strategy: Partner with business & ADS leadership and through the rationalization of the information value chain, the data architect will provide strategic recommendations to maximize the value of information assets via their creation, access and use.
- Refine the data architecture and modelling: Enhance data architecture with appropriate data model and its mapping with system architecture and process framework with collaboration of product teams. This enables data quality management by identifying data quality rules and organize the processes to systematic measure, cleanse and maintain data quality.
- Maximize value derived from data and analytics: Foster value creation using the organization's data assets, as well as the external data ecosystem. This includes aiding value creation through data exploitation, envisioning data-enabled strategies, as well as enabling all forms of business outcomes through analytics, data and analytics governance, and enterprise information policy.
- Enable effective data and analytics governance: Suggest who can take what actions with what information, and under what circumstances. Deploy the (master) data governance framework and use the supporting data management tools. Assist data and analytics leaders, and business and ADS leadership in developing information governance processes and structures.
- Manage risk and lifecycle: Aid the definition of data classifications and data zoning to allow information assets to be immediately identified and proactively managed as more information becomes federated in a digital economy. Manage data lifecycle by clarifying the relevant policies, automating, monitoring and actively managing the effectiveness of implementation.
- Secure data and analytic assets: Aid in the analysis of data and analytics security requirements and solutions, and work with the chief information security officer (CISO) to ensure that enterprise data and analytics assets are treated as protected assets.

Essential skills & competences:

- Business domain knowledge, data/content and process understanding on Commercial and Customer, including sales, marketing, customer centric solutions, end to end supply chain etc. (which are as important as technical skills).
- System integration experience, including interface design, and familiarity with modern integration platform and SaaS-oriented architecture techniques.
