Job Overview:
The Retail Store Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while

processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently. This role is vital to the store’s

daily operations, ensuring that customers have a smooth checkout experience and that

friendly, and have a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and organized cashier

station.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and assist them throughout the checkout process.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and escalate concerns to the store manager as needed.
- Provide accurate information on store products, promotions, and policies.

2. Transaction Processing:

- Accurately process sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit card, and gift card payments.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as necessary, following store policies.
- Balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy in daily sales.

3. Product and Inventory Handling:

- Assist customers with product packaging, bagging, and wrapping as required.
- Maintain knowledge of store layout to help direct customers to specific products.

4. Store Appearance and Maintenance:

- Keep the cashier area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Arrange and replenish products at the checkout counter as needed.
- Follow safety and loss prevention procedures to protect store assets and prevent theft.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work collaboratively with store associates and managers to support store operations.
- Assist in other store functions, such as restocking shelves, during quiet periods.
- Maintaining and updating the client database using software

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent.
- **Experience**: Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required.
- **Skills**:

- Strong attention to detail and basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple transactions quickly.
