**What do we do**

The North America Consumer Bank - Data Science and Modeling team analyzes millions of prospects and billions of customer level transactions using big data tools and machine learning, AI techniques to unlock opportunities for our clients in meeting their financial needs and create economic value for the bank.

The team extracts relevant insights, identifies business opportunities, converts business problems into modeling framework, uses big data tools, latest deep learning and machine learning algorithms to build predictive models, implements solutions and designs go-to-market strategies for a huge variety of business problems.

**What’s expected from this role**

We are seeking an experienced data science leader who should be able to perform the below in their day to day role:

- ** Client Obsession/Conceptualize and Drive Proof of Concept** - Explore and Create New client centric analytic solution to business problems. Individual should be able to have an holistic view of multiple businesses and develop analytic solutions accordingly.
- ** Communication skills** - Ability to translate and articulate technical thoughts and ideas to a larger audience including influencing skills with peers and senior management
- ** Strategic acumen - **Should possess ability to see the big picture of business, identify and understand emerging trends, challenge status quo and design goals for growth
- ** Modeling and Tech Savvy** - Always up to date with the latest use cases of modeling community, machine learning and deep learning algorithms and share knowledge within the team.
- ** Statistical mind set** - Proficiency in basic statistics, hypothesis testing, segmentation, and predictive modeling.
- ** Risk Assessment**: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations

**Skillset**
- PHD or master’s with 10+ years of relevant experience of building and deploying Statistical Models
- Domain expertise in building Customer Acquisition, Risk, Engagement, Marketing Models preferably in Financial or retail industry
- Experienced in performing a player and coach role in a large fast moving matrixed organization.
- Well versed with necessary data preprocessing and feature engineering skills.
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in solving business problems by implementing ML algorithms (Random Forest and Gradient Boosting), Deep Learning techniques (artificial neural network, convolutional neural networks)
- Experience in Python or R programing along with strong experience in SQL with an appetite to explore new languages given technical constraints.
- Have excellent communication skills in clearly articulating and presenting teams work to senior management in a structured and simpler form.
- Should have experience in managing parallel projects involving multiple stakeholders.
