**Job Title**: Assistant Professor of Performing Arts

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in performing arts, including core curriculum and electives.
- Mentor and advise students in their academic and artistic pursuits.
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative classroom environment that encourages student participation and creativity.
- Utilize innovative teaching methods, including technology integration and hands-on experiences.
- **Research and Scholarship**:

- Maintain an active research agenda in the field of performing arts, including publishing in academic journals, presenting at conferences, and producing creative works.
- Collaborate with faculty and students on research projects and initiatives that promote interdisciplinary work.
- Seek external funding and grants to support research and creative projects.
- **Service**:

- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- Contribute to the growth and development of the department through community engagement and outreach programs.
- Assist in organizing and participating in performances, workshops, and events that enhance the university’s cultural offerings.
- **Professional Development**:

- Stay current with trends and developments in the performing arts field.
- Engage in continuous professional development and seek opportunities for collaboration with other institutions, organizations, and the community.

**Qualifications**:

- **Education**: A terminal degree (PhD, MFA, or equivalent) in Performing Arts or a closely related field.
- **Experience**: A demonstrated record of effective teaching, research, and professional involvement in the performing arts, including a portfolio of creative works.
- **Skills**:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students and faculty.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the performing arts.
- Proficiency in incorporating technology and innovative methodologies in teaching and production.
