**About the role**

**Job Description / Capsule**
- The Associate Solution Architect will be a member of the IGNITE Architecture team supporting the Operations BTG.
- The Associate Solution Architect will typically work within a team to fulfil IT Architecture tasks under supervision of a more senior member of the function.
- You will be responsible for enhancing and accelerating projects while ensuring the logical and physical architecture for a project aligns with the standards and reference architectures defined by enterprise architecture.
- As the Associate Solution Architect, you will assist more senior team members with delivering the architectural design of technology solutions.

**Typical Accountabilities**
- Works with Business Analysis and Engineering functions and support functional & technical requirements management, including supporting senior architecture support in the technology acquisition selection process.
- Responsible for architecting and designing solutions that meet business requirements and are aligned to AstraZeneca’s Enterprise Architecture, in support of Develop, Make (Manufacturing) and Digital Transformation.
- The Architect will partner with; BA/PM/Scrum Hybrid, Senior BPs, programme managers; service managers; other solution architects and solution engineers across different IT groups to create solutions that are aligned to AstraZeneca architecture standards and principles, leverage common solutions and services.
- The Architect will support the Lead Architect in defining technology roadmaps.
- Within the solution development lifecycle, the role will be responsible for solution evaluation and selection, buy vs. build decisions, and early-phase project estimates which contribute to the argument
- Provides technical & IT expertise support to project teams and conducts AZ architectural reviews throughout project lifecycle
- Ensures compliance with existing EA guidelines and standards
- Contributes to project and service teams in the development, implementation and maintenance of standard architectural components
- Works with third party suppliers as required and contributes to the creation of functional design documents
- Works with third party suppliers to verify technical development and delivery are in alignment with the Architecture Roadmap
- Ensure Design of solutions is documented in supporting Architectural Artefacts ie Solution Blueprint and seeks Architecture Review Board Signoff.
- Documents all architecture analysis and design work
- Contributes to the development of the Architecture Capability, by documenting and sharing knowledge and standard methodologies with peer Architects.

**Education, Qualifications, and Experience**

**Essential**
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent
- Experience of developing innovative solutions, blueprints, and standards for solution design.
- Experience implementing and maintaining business solution architectures under any formal framework for their domain of architecture.

**Desirable**
- Demonstrated initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
- Experience in developing/maturing an architectural practice
- Experience of developing and managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers
- Implementation of GxP systems

**Skills and Capabilities**

**Essential**
- Relevant technical degree or equivalent
- Proven skills and experience being a solution engineer looking to transition to an associate solution architect on projects and programmes
- Proven development/design experience in at least one technical domain.
