Their responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, documenting patient information, and educating patients and their families about health conditions and care plans. They also collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patients receive comprehensive care. Key Responsibilities:
- **Direct Patient Care**:Administering medications, providing wound care, assisting with mobility, and ensuring patient comfort.
- **Monitoring and Assessment**:Regularly assessing patients' conditions, monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, blood pressure, etc.), and reporting any changes to the healthcare team.
- **Documentation**:Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records, including vital signs, medications administered, and any changes in patient condition.
- **Patient and Family Education**:Providing information about illnesses, treatments, medications, and preventive care.
- **Collaboration**:Working with physicians, other nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- **Medication Administration**:Ensuring medications are administered correctly and safely, following physician orders.
- **Supervision**:May supervise and guide junior nurses, nursing students, and other healthcare staff.
- **Adherence to Standards**:Following hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory standards.
