**The Role**

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems and identify potential future issues across the spectrum of platforms and services. You’ll be at the forefront of new technology and modernization, working with some of our biggest clients - which means some of the biggest in the world.

There’s never a typical day as a System Administrator at Kyndryl, because no two projects are alike. You’ll be managing systems data for clients and providing day-to-day solutions and security compliance. You’ll oversee a queue of assignments and work directly with technicians, prioritizing tickets to deliver the best solutions to our clients.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide advanced support for **DB2 z/OS**environments, including installation, configuration, and upgrades
- Perform **performance tuning**, **capacity planning**, and **space management**
- Manage **backup and recovery**strategies, including disaster recovery procedures
- Monitor and troubleshoot **DB2 subsystems**, resolving incidents and optimizing queries
- Implement and maintain **security policies**, access controls, and audit compliance
- Automate routine tasks using **REXX**, **JCL**, or other scripting tools
- Work with tools such as **BMC**, **CA Platinum**, **SMPE**, **ISPF**, and **SMS**
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide Level 3 support for production issues
- Document procedures, configurations, and best practices

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 5+ years of experience as a **DB2 DBA on z/OS**:

- Strong knowledge of **mainframe architecture**, **JCL**, and **REXX scripting**:

- Experience with **high availability (HA)**and **disaster recovery (DR)**solutions
- Familiarity with **monitoring tools**and **performance dashboards**:

- Create tablespaces (both system-managed and database-managed) based on business requirements
- Perform database recovery operations to restore data in case of failures.
- Bind packages to DB2 databases to optimize SQL execution plans.
- Create new DB2 objects (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, etc.) based on project needs.
- Run RUNSTATS on tablespaces and indexes to maintain accurate statistics for query optimization.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsEffective communication and collaboration with development and infrastructure teams.
