**Position Title**: Faculty Member - Leather Design and Fashion Textiles**Job Purpose**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Teaching and Mentoring**:

- Deliver lectures, workshops, and studio-based courses on leather design, material sourcing, production techniques, and sustainability.
- Guide students through project-based learning, prototyping, and design thinking processes.
- Offer career advice and mentorship to students.
- **Curriculum Development**:

- Develop and update curriculum and course materials to reflect current industry trends in leather and têxtile design.
- Integrate new technologies, tools, and sustainable practices into coursework.
- **Research and Development**:

- Conduct research in leather design innovations, sustainable materials, and market trends.
- Publish research papers and present findings at conferences.
- **Industry Collaboration**:

- Build relationships with leather and fashion industry stakeholders for guest lectures, internships, and industry projects.
- Organize field visits to tanneries, leather manufacturers, and fashion houses.
- **Academic Administration**:

- Participate in departmental meetings, student assessments, and quality assurance activities.
- Assist in organizing exhibitions, fashion shows, and competitions.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Leather Design, Fashion Textiles, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience is an asset.
- Strong knowledge of leather production processes, design software (e.g., CAD, Adobe Suite), and sustainable design principles.

- Proficiency in leather crafting techniques (cutting, tanning, dyeing, stitching).
- Expertise in material science, focusing on têxtiles and leathers.
