Prepare patients for urological examinations and procedures, explaining the purpose, process, and potential risks involved in a clear and compassionate manner.
- Assist urologists and nurses during urological surgeries and procedures, providing technical support, handing instruments, and ensuring the sterility and safety of the surgical environment.
- Operate and maintain urological equipment and instrumentation, including cystoscopes, ultrasound machines, bladder scanners, and fluoroscopy units, ensuring proper functioning and cleanliness.
- Collect and analyze patient specimens, such as urine samples and tissue biopsies, following established protocols and ensuring accurate labeling and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records, including patient histories, test results, procedure notes, and imaging studies, adhering to confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Educate patients about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-procedure care instructions, addressing their questions and concerns to promote understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team, including urologists, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff, to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless workflow.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements governing urological procedures and patient care activities.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay updated on advancements in urological technology, procedures, and best practices.
