Structured hybrid role:
Introduction:
As a member of the Barclays Compliance Assurance Continuous Monitoring team you will be responsible for the ongoing monitoring of a variety of data-driven tools, which identify exceptions to given business processes across the Barclays Group. Where exceptions arise, you will be tasked with further investigation to determine root cause and assess potential Compliance Risk. You will contribute to the development of business risk management capability and culture by constructively challenging its ongoing effectiveness and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in the firm’s management of Conduct and Reputational risk, prevention of Financial Crime and adherence to Laws, Rules and Regulations (LRR).

What will you be doing?
- Review dashboards and other data-driven tools created by the Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team in order to identify exceptions which may indicate control or process failures.
- Investigate the arising exceptions using basic data analytics queries and other investigative/testing techniques to determine the fact base, materiality and root cause of any potential issues.
- Liaise with Compliance SMEs and business stakeholders to ensure appropriate remediation plans are outlined and agreed to mitigate identified Compliance risk.
- Where necessary, raise issues within relevant systems to ensure appropriate governance is in place to track remediation through to completion.
- Proactively work with the Compliance Assurance Data Analytics team to ensure that existing dashboards and data-driven tools are fit for purpose, suggesting enhancements where relevant.
- Complete other duties at the discretion of the head of Compliance Assurance Continuous Monitoring and senior management.

What we’re looking for:

- Ability to interpret and analyse structured data and data visualisations/charts in order to draw out key themes or conclusions, including the use of published Tableau dashboards and advanced Microsoft Excel techniques.
- Understanding of Compliance Risk including the importance of effective controls in the mitigation of risk within a financial services organisation.
- Excellent influencing and communication skills with the ability to tailor messages to all levels of the business.

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Experience and knowledge of Compliance and/or financial crime regulations, risks, technology systems/solutions.
- Minimum education qualification-Graduate
- Experience with basic data analytics coding techniques (e.g. basic SQL queries).
- Experience in developing and executing testing/assurance strategies; as part of an assurance function, internal or external audit role, or as part of a risk management function.
