**Description**
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operation Theatre Technician to join our healthcare team. As an Operation Theatre Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our operating theaters. Your responsibilities will include setting up and maintaining the operating room, preparing patients for surgery, assisting surgeons during procedures, and maintaining surgical equipment and instruments.
**Responsibilities**
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing equipment, arranging surgical instruments, ensuring the availability of necessary supplies, and testing and verifying equipment functionality
- Assist surgical team by donning sterile gowns and gloves, setting up sterile drapes, and arranging surgical instruments and supplies according to surgeon's preference
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures, providing necessary instruments, supplies, and assistance as required
- Monitor and maintain a sterile environment during surgery, including maintaining the integrity of sterile fields, ensuring proper disposal of contaminated items, and responding to any breaches in sterile technique
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring proper patient positioning, prepping and draping the surgical site, and assisting with anesthesia administration, if required
- Assist with patient transfers to and from the operating room, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Clean and maintain surgical instruments and equipment according to established protocols, including performing routine checks and maintenance, documenting repairs, and coordinating with external vendors for servicing and repairs
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Operation Theatre Technician program
- Certification as an Operation Theatre Technician preferred
- Previous experience working in an operating theater or surgical environment strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and assist with patient transfers
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and sterile environment
**Education**:
- Diploma (preferred)
**Experience**:
