**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
FTC Solar is looking for a Buyer who will be responsible for the operational purchasing process from purchase requisition generation, PO creation, material receipt, managing inventory level, and invoicing. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with suppliers, Category Managers, and Project Planners to ensure the timely execution of all operational purchasing processes.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Create purchase requisition based on project bill of material releases, follow-through on delegation of authority approval
- Release Purchase Orders to suppliers and getting on time PO acknowledgment
- Create and maintain part master, vendor master set-up in the transactional systems
- Track open purchase orders for assigned categories
- Validate supplier invoices and route internally for approval
- Execute & close supplier exceptions and drive performance meetings with suppliers
- Monitor status of open orders to ensure on-time delivery of all items ordered, including timely resolution, communication, and mitigation of all future problems
- Expedite or defer orders as required based on schedule and/or inventory changes
- Coordinate material flows throughout production/BOM changes, obsolescence
- Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies, returns and quality problems with suppliers
- Understand and comply with all import/export requirements
- Ensure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and procedures
- Report out supplier ship dates to ensure on time pickup and delivery of material to project site
- Drive closure of supplier non-conformances and deviation requests in SIS portal
- Collaborate with sourcing & project planning teams to proactively resolve delivery risks
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration
- 5+ years of work experience in sourcing, supply chain, planning or operations
- Solar, Semiconductor, or Steel industry experience preferred
- Familiarity with sourcing and vendor management and relevant software
- Understanding of Solar market dynamics and sound business judgement
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Ability to negotiate and sustain networking relationships
- Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data
- Solid judgement with ability to make good decisions
- Ability to work in fast pace start-up environment
- Familiar with ISO 9001 and 14001 standards and QMS and EMS process, such as SWOT
