**Role**

Our entire platform is hosted on AWS, and the heart and core of our platform are based on MySQL databases. As of today, we already have 1000+ database servers handling several TBs of transactional data, and this could grow 100X in the next few years.

We are currently working on building a new product line. We are looking for a strong database architect to design, build, manage, monitor, and tune our MySQL clusters in AWS Aurora.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design, implement and manage multi-tenant database infrastructure (Aurora MySQL, Redis, and ESS) in AWS.
- Work with developers and other database architects in Leadsquared to come up with the right database design that can support millions of users and billions of transactions.
- Drive best practices that promote stability and operational efficiency.
- Build the right security controls (users, roles, permissions, access, password rotation policies) and govern the database infrastructure.

Work with the release team to ensure there is no risk and impact on database clusters post changes.
- Ensure that the right indexes are created, analyze long-running queries, and help engineering teams to rewrite, manage and monitor the database performance.
- Identify blocked transactions and deadlocks and work with the engineering team to resolve them.
- Monitor the performance of database clusters and proactively identify scalability and availability needs.

**Requirements**:

- Solid expertise in SQL. Good understanding of dealing with JSON data type
- Experience in reviewing queries written for MySQL and guiding developers to write optimized queries. Must have experience in identifying slow queries and fixing them.
- Understand blocked transactions and deadlocks and know how to resolve them.
- Strong experience in Monitoring, DB Performance Tuning, DB Availability, DR, Security, Storage
- Excellent communication skills.
