Within Science,Tech and Medical Journal publishing division we strengthen our team provide support and advice to Editors and Publishers in handling ethical allegations

About the Role

The role supports Elsevier’s commitment to research integrity by assisting with investigations into allegations of ethical misconduct, working with teams across Elsevier on prevention and early detection strategies, and training internal and external stakeholders on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Elsevier best practices and polices.The role involves support to Publishers and editors, while always respecting and upholding the independence of editors’ decision making.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supporting editors in assessing allegations including plagiarism, duplication, authorship disputes, peer review manipulation
- Providing editors with comments on potential corrections, editor notes, concern and retraction notices
- Raising awareness and knowledge levels of ethical policies and procedures by providing education to internal colleagues and to scientific community
- Acting as a product expert for tools, providing feedback to product managers regarding new feature improvements
- Creating user accounts and provide training to users on best practice in using detection tools.
- Managing cases involving multiple journals and networks of stakeholders, liasing with legal and communication experts as appropriate

**Requirements**:

- Be Knowledgable of peer-review and the publishing process, and COPE best practices
- Able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
- Be a great problem solver, work methodically, problem-solving and fact-checking
- Experience in working in a complex, matrix international environment
