**Job description**

Maintenance electricians are **responsible for the general upkeep of a hospital electrical system.** They are required to inspect the premises regularly, conduct routine maintenance, perform repairs, and fix faulty wiring when necessary. They may also be required to replace electrical appliances in the hospital.

**Experience**: At least 2 years experience in the Maintenance field in a reputed establishment. Experience with the healthcare industry will be an added advantage.

**Language proficiency**:Should be able to read, write and speak Marathi, Hindi and English

**Computer proficiency**:MS office.

**Maintenance Electrician Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Keep generator, lighting, and electrical systems in working order. Diagnose problems and then repair/replace defective parts.
- Read technical diagrams and blueprints. Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints, maintenance, and repair knowledge.
- Need to act quickly when a breakdown occurs, must be able to tell management whether the problem can be corrected and whether hospital can continue as usual. If regular activities must be stopped, the electrician will have to estimate how long a shutdown will last.
- Make periodic inspection for new electrical services (120v, 240v and 480v three phase), including wiring, conduit, panels, breakers, contractors, relays, timers and controls.
- Performs electrical maintenance and repair work, install/replace fixtures, switches, receptacles and wiring.
- Operates a variety of standard power tools, equipment and trenchers in electrical installations, maintenance and repair activities on a regular basis.
- Maintains records and logs as needed.
- Provides guidance and direction to less experienced personnel and others assigned to his/her position.
- Perform other various tasks as instructed by management.
- Perform replacement on diagnosed faulty electrical elements of machine including motors, relays, and switches; and set-up sensing mechanism, utilizing hand tools.
- Carry out diagnosis and correct or replace malfunctioning electronic units like the printed circuit boards.
- Organize safe maintenance principles for regulating and scheduling breakdowns.
