**Job Summary**

The **Commis 1 - Chinese Cuisine** is responsible for preparing and cooking basic Chinese dishes under the supervision of senior chefs. This role involves assisting in mise-en-place, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and ensuring food is prepared to the required standards.

**Key Responsibilities:Food Preparation**

  • Assist in preparing ingredients (cutting vegetables, marinating meats, making sauces) specific to Chinese cuisine
  • Cook assigned dishes such as fried rice, noodles, dim sum, stir-fried vegetables, or soups under supervision
  • Follow standard recipes and plating instructions
  • Support the Chef de Partie in executing orders during service hours

**Hygiene & Safety**

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (e.g., HACCP)
  • Properly store food items and handle raw materials hygienically

**Inventory & Kitchen Operations**

  • Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients
  • Monitor freshness and quality of ingredients used in Chinese cooking
  • Minimize food wastage through proper portioning and prep methods

**Team Support**

  • Work collaboratively with the Chinese section team and other kitchen staff
  • Support other kitchen sections when required
  • Attend daily briefings and follow kitchen instructions accurately

**Requirements**

  • 1-2 years of experience in a Chinese kitchen or multi-cuisine setup with Chinese specialization
  • Basic knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques (stir-fry, steaming, deep-frying, wok handling)
  • Understanding of kitchen operations and food preparation techniques
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays

**Preferred Qualifications**

  • Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Previous experience in a hotel or authentic Chinese restaurant
  • Familiarity with Chinese ingredients, sauces, and flavor profiles

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
