You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills. **Basic/ Essential Qualifications**: - Qualified Accountant - CA - Strong academic background - 1st class honours, minimum bachelor degree from a reputable institution - Prior experience, if any in a month-end or quarter-end focused reporting role or control environment based or finance automation skillset based - Strong excel skills. **Desirable skillsets/ good to have**: - Good stakeholder engagement skills and understanding & executing their requirements / expectations - Enthusiastic, motivated, self-starter, pro-active and a team player Knowledge and understanding of the key accounting principles under IFRS Understanding Banking environment - Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communicator This role will be based out of Chennai. Purpose of the role To manage the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. Accountabilities Management of the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, and other accounting records in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, rules and regulations. Support in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues. Development and maintenance of a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure that there is no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including regular assessment of the effectiveness of internal controls addressing any weaknesses or gaps.. Development and implementation of up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organisation. Preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to authorities, and provision of support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports. Coordination with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations. Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda. Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done. Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function. Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy. Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively. Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
