Job Description for Nursing:
Position Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Department: Nursing

Reports to: Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, or designated supervisor

Job Summary:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, promoting wellness, and assisting in the recovery process. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols. The position requires strong clinical skills, compassion, effective communication, and the ability to adapt to various healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Patient Assessment**:

- Conduct comprehensive health assessments to identify patient needs.
- Monitor and record vital signs, symptoms, and medical history.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans.
- **Patient Care**:

- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Provide direct patient care, including wound care, IV therapy, and other nursing interventions.
- Monitor and manage pain levels, ensuring patient comfort.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education and support.
- **Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including electronic health records (EHR).
- Document nursing interventions, medication administration, and patient responses.
- **Advocacy**:

- Advocate for patient rights and ensure informed consent is obtained for treatments.
- Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team.
- **Emergency Response**:

- Respond promptly to emergencies, assess the situation, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Collaborate with the emergency response team as needed.
- **Quality Improvement**:

- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and contribute to continuous improvement.
- **Education and Training**:

- Stay updated on healthcare trends, nursing practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance and education to nursing students, new hires, and other healthcare professionals.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.
- Current state RN licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications may be required based on specialty.
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
